New Bingley Heritage Trail to celebrate Heritage Open Days

As part of the national Heritage Open Days celebrations, our FREE September Sunday Monthly Walk will be extra special—marking the launch of the new Bingley Heritage Trail!

Join Walkers Are Welcome for a guided walking tour through the heart of Bingley on Sunday 14th September 2025, exploring key historical landmarks and discovering the stories that shaped our town. This is your first chance to experience the newly installed, family-friendly heritage information points, designed to bring Bingley’s colourful and varied history to life for all ages.

You can choose to join us at 10:00 AM or 2:00 PM. The walk will set off from in front of Bingley Arts Centre and will last approximately two hours. Highlights along the way include Bingley Market Hall and Butter Cross, Myrtle Park, Prince of Wales Park, and the iconic Five Rise Locks.

What are the Heritage Open Days?

This event is officially part of the Heritage Open Days which is England’s largest festival of history and culture, offering free events and experiences. In 2025, it runs from 12th to 21st September, celebrating local heritage through tours, talks, exhibitions, and family activities.

Accessibility notice

Narrow footpath on part of the walk but mostly accessible – can be muddy and wet at times though.

Note: If you come from the station, the start of the walk is only a step away. Bingley Train Station is fully accessible with lifts for easy access from both platforms.
