Bingley Walkers are Welcome is almost ten years old. For our ninth AGM edition, we will meet face to face on Thursday 17th October 2024, 7.00pm at The Brown Cow, Bingley. The meeting will start at 7.00 prompt and we will provide tea and coffee on arrival.
The 18th annual series of Walks for Manorlands is being held on Saturday 28th September 2024 from Harden Cricket Club. There will be a choice of a 3,5,10 or 15 miles walks. Their purpose is to provide a friendly and enjoyable full or half day’s walking and at the same time raise funds for the Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice. Dogs are welcome too!

As part of their regular Summer Walk & Talk events, the Bingley and District Local History Society is organising a local history walk in Bingley St Ives. Bingley Walkers are Welcome are delighted to promote this event which will be led by our own committee member and local resident of the St Ives Estate, Susan Hart.
Planned to introduce non-birders to birds in St.Ives Estate, the walks can take up to 3 hours depending upon weather and the birds. They take place in all weathers so please come ready for the conditions with suitable footwear. Children are welcome but dogs will hinder our chances of getting close to the birds. Open to all and free of charge.
For a fun night out, go to Bingley Arts Centre on Thursday 19th September to see Common Ground by Mikron Theatre Co. It will be ‘hill-arious’!
This is official, the 7th Bingley Walking Festival will happen on Bank Holiday Monday 6th May! We will be offering five different walks on the day for all abilities:
– 7:00am: Down Chorus Walk: A Guided Birdwatch around St. Ives Estate
– 9:30am: Looking for a Puddle Walk: Up to Ilkley Moor in search for the Stanza Stones
– 10:00am: Bingley’s Hidden Secrets Walk
– 13:30pm: A Bridges of Bingley Walk
– 2:00pm: A New Look at St Ives: Two opportunities to see St Ives Estate as never before!

The Bingley Easter Eggstravaganza is back on Sunday 31st March 20024. An annual event organised by the Bingley Chamber of Trade & Commerce, it’s a great day out packed with entertainments for all the family and we absolutely recommend it!

Our jewel in the crown, the famous Bingley Five Rise Locks are turning 250 this year! For the occasion, Canal & River Trust is putting a whole day of activities and everyone is invited. Local communities are currently working on a programme with the charity to help out. This is going to be a fabulous celebration for the town and Bingley Walkers are Welcome will be part of it.
