Our second Celebration of Walking will be on Bank Holiday Monday May 4th! We offer a choice of 5 FREE guided walks all designed and led by our experienced walk leaders. Each walk has something different to offer to walkers of all abilities, ages and experience. It is a real chance to see some of Bingley and the surrounding district’s most stunning sights and landmarks. Well behaved dogs on a lead are also very welcome. Bingley’s much-loved Ale Saints Community Beer Festival is back for 2026! Taking place over the weekend of 22nd and 23rd May at Church House on Old Main Street – just opposite All Saints Parish Church – this friendly, community event is a brilliant reason to extend your visit to Bingley. Expect a great selection of cask ales from local Yorkshire breweries and beyond, plus gin, cider, and bottled lager. There’s live music on both days and exceptional value entry at just £8, including a festival glass and your first drink. A perfect reward after a walk in the Bingley area!

Bingley’s cultural scene burst into life last year with Bingley 25 — a vibrant, three-day festival of creativity, community, and heritage which took place over the May bank holiday weekend (May 3–5, 2025). The good news is that this event will be back with the Bingley 26 festival taking place on 6th and 7th June 2026

Bingley Walkers are Welcome is almost ten years old. For our ninth AGM edition, we will meet face to face on Thursday 15th October 2025, 7.00pm at The Brown Cow, Bingley. The meeting will start at 7.00 prompt and we will provide tea and coffee on arrival.

Bingley Canal Festival – Five Rise Locks 250 year celebration

Our jewel in the crown, the famous Bingley Five Rise Locks turned 250 year old in 2024! For the occasion, Canal & River Trust put a whole day of activities and everyone was invited. Local communities and groups like us worked on a programme with the charity to help out. It was a fabulous celebration for the town and Bingley Walkers are Welcome took part by guiding people from the railway station to the canal towpath.

it’s a community event involving three local organisations
it’s a family fun day
it’s happening locally using local facilities (Bingley Pool and Myrtle Park)

Official Grand Reopening of Cliffe Castle Heritage Park

Cliffe Castle Heritage Park in Keighley is one of the outdoor gems of the Aire Valley. Unfortunately, this Victorian countryside park had fallen into disarray over the years and a much needed refurbishment work was needed. Following a successful bid, Bradford Council managed to secure £3.5 million from the Heritage Lottery Fund’s Parks for the People programme, and provided the remaining 1 million of the funding itself. The full restoration including the glasshouse, fountains, aviary and paths is now nearing completion and a Grand Re-opening ceremony is planned on 10th December 2017.
