Following on the success of the two previous editions, this “brilliant" Bingley Biathlon is returning to town! We don’t usually share events which are not walk related but on this occasion we believe there is enough ground for us to make an exception:
- it’s a community event involving three local organisations
- it’s a family fun day
- it’s happening locally using local facilities (Bingley Pool and Myrtle Park)
So let’s make this another success and hopefully it will come back for many years to come!
What's happening during the Brilliant Bingley Biathlon?
As you might know, Bingley Pool almost disappeared and thanks to the local community it was brought back to life. So this event is a great way to find fundings to run the pool and it is organised by Friends of Bingley Pool in partnership with Bingley Amateur Swimming Club and Bingley Harriers and Athletics Club. Proceeds are shared equally so at least 1/3 will be spent on improvements at Bingley Pool.

Swim in Bingley Pool – Run in Myrtle Park!
The event will be run as a Modern Biathlon under Pentathlon GB rules. Modern Biathlon consists of separate swimming and running events. Distances vary by age category and points are awarded on the basis of time – the faster you go the more points you are awarded. Points are also adjusted for age so all the family can compete against one another!
A Family Fun Day
Refreshments and entertainments will be located in Myrtle Park – this is a fun event for the whole community of Bingley and beyond. Food stalls and children’s activities will be on offer!
How to enter?
Sign up online at Entry Central or complete an entry form. Pay online or leave a cheque/cash with the entry form at Bingley Pool
On the day
You will receive time at which to register in Myrtle Park. You will then either swim, change, then run in the park – or run, change, then swim.
