A word from your Walk Leaders, Ronda & David:
We are very proud to lead the first ever guided walk of the new “Bingley Loop” of the “Welcome Way”! This is an 8.5 mile walk starting from Bracken Hall, Shipley Glen to Bingley and back.
The Welcome Way is a collaboration between four vibrant Yorkshire towns: Burley in Wharfedale, Otley, Baildon and Bingley which are all members of the Walkers are Welcome towns network. A 28 mile circular route is connecting three of the towns and the Bingley Loop is a late addition to that project.
Our walk will take you through some secret parts of Bingley; the footpaths include packhorse trails, canal towpath and riverside walks. You can enjoy ancient woodlands and visit a national heritage site all within a very short walk from the centre of Bingley.
What do you need?
Come in strong shoes or boots and wear clothing appropriate to the weather.
Have a bite to eat before you start or bring a picnic. Possibility to buy drinks halfway round at Bingley in one of the welcoming cafés . Return to start by 4.30pm.
Always carry water to drink, a snack, and any first aid supplies you might need.
Sorry – but we cannot accept dogs on this walk, except guide dogs.
