Kennet provides a hands-on interactive learning experience for people of all ages. It houses exhibits illustrating the social and physical development of the canal system. The boatman’s cabin contains a ‘museum in a basket’.

The Heritage Short Boat Kennet built in 1947 is one of the last unconverted boats which worked on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal. It is operated by the Leeds & Liverpool Canal Society as a floating museum carrying its “Cargo of Heritage” to open days, events and festivals along the canal.
